Kris hovered over her. She was just how he remembered, except she looked so sad, so defeated. But he was touching her, his fingers wiping her tears away. She couldn't believe that he was really here. The actual hockey player she fell in love with without actually knowing him. He touched her chin softly. He wanted to make her smile like that day at the game. He wanted to do so much more.

Rosie shoved Rhyne so her lips touched Kris's.

Ari giggled as the Rosie shoved Rhyne. The expression on both of their faces was priceless.
Rhyne squeaked and lost her footing, falling forward into Kris, who was also startled and went to catch her, only to have their lips touch. A jolt went through them both, and after the initial shock, Kris stood up straighter and pulled Rhyne closer to him, deepening the kiss.
Nik walked in to see his former teammate and best friend kissing a girl. "Uhh," he said, looking over at his girlfriend who was sitting by a tall girl that he hasn't seen before. "I'll explain later," Ari said softly to him.

Emily just watched triumphantly, whipping out her phone to tell Yami and Alze the good news.

Ari smiled as Nik pulled her into his lap on the couch. "Care to explain?" He asked her in his native language. Her green eyes met his blue ones, and she went in a long explanation in Swedish for him.

Rosie whipped out her sidekick and recordered the whole thing, "Bwhaha.."

Ari raised an eyebrow at Rosie. "Are you doing what I think you're doing? He /is/ a professional hockey player. You shouldn't do that." Nik chuckled. "Oh, let her have her fun," he said in his thick accent. Ari sighed.
Kris pulled away from Rhyne, and looked down at her with those bright blue eyes. "I can't believe that I found you." "Technically, my friends found you," she chuckled a bit. Kris smiled, the first real smile since the day he left Chicago, and he pressed his lips to hers once again.

Nik stood, holding Ari up as she slid off his lap. "I need to meet up with Soupy. Want to come?" Ari looked over at the newly acquired lovebirds and nodded. "Ok." She turned to Emily and Rosie and curtsied slightly. "Pleasure to meet you," she said sweetly and shyly."
Kris kissed Rhyne's forehead before welcoming himself into her room and began rummaging around. "Umm, what are you doing?" She asked, a delicate eyebrow raised. Kris shot her the smile that she loved so much. "Packing for you. You don't think I'm letting you out of my sight again, do you?" She giggled, blushing slightly at the comment.

Rhyne plopped on her messy bed, allowing the man she's dreamed of forever to go through her things and pack for her. It was pretty funny watching him stuff things into a suitcase without caring what he was touching. He even packed her lady items. She was liking him more and more, which she didn't think she was possible to like him more than he did. She smiled as she held up a blanket that she loved, and he didn't even ask. He took it from her, folded it, and put it in the suitcase. The blonde hockey player packed a few of her pictures, and anything else that Rhyne pointed to that she wanted to keep. The rest she would sell with the townhome. Or give to any of her friends if they want it. Once everything was packed, Kris stood in front of the much smaller girl and held out his hand like the gentleman that he was. "My princess." Rhyne blushed brightly and took his hand. "I'm not a princess." "But you are to me," Kris replied, kissing her hand. "I have been dreaming of you and looking for you for months. You are a princess in my eyes."

Two days later, after everything was organized and certain things being shipped back up to Toronto, Kris was taking Rhyne to his new home, which was now hers. She licked her lips in anticipation as they boarded the plane. He held her hand, smiling encouragingly, as she looked back to the city she grew up in. Ari and Nik were there to see them off, and the petite French girl was sobbing into Nik's chest. Rhyne had to hold back tears too. The two of them had become close fast, and she didn't want to leave Ari. Kris stroked her hand to soothe her, and the plane ride to Toronto was fairly quiet between them. He understood, though. She was mourning her old life.

Two years later, Rhyne sat in the living room in Kris' teammates house, with their friend's child in her lap. She laughed as Cruise laughed as she bounced him and kissed the top of his head. Mel, Colby Armstrong's wife, smiled at the scene and ate some of the popcorn she was eating while they watched the Toronto Maple Leafs' play on TV. The two years that had passed were filled with love and belonging, and Rhyne was the happiest that she had ever been, and as of the previous weekend, she was engaged to Kristopher. She still kept in touch with her best friends, Alze, Emmy, Yami, and Rosie, and she missed them tons. Ari she saw a lot more often than her friends, since both of them had their men that crossed paths often with their careers. She was happy to see Ari all the time, and wished she could see her four friends a little more often as well. Rhyne quickly became friends with Colby's wife, Mel, as well. The two friends and Mel's son watched as Kris scored his first career hat trick on his first game since their engagement, and Rhyne couldn't help but laugh at the irony of it.

"You're crazy," Rhyne mumbled to Ari. She smiled sweetly. "Ask my brother, and he'll agree with you." "I am not wearing that on my wedding day!" "You need something blue." "Anything but that!" She raised a dark eyebrow. "Why? It is your mother's." Silence. "I win, now you're wearing it." Rhyne sighed and pouted. "Fine. I'm getting married tomorrow Ari..." she trailed off which caused Ari to turn and look at her. "Don't be nervous," she said softly. "You love Kris with everything you have, and he's a great guy. You two will be so happy together and will raise a beautiful family." Rhyne's shoulders dropped. "Yeah, but I don't even know if my best friends are coming." Ari touched Rhyne's arm softly. "If they cannot make it, they cannot make up. Don't let it bother you. Everyone's been crazy busy lately. You are still surrounded by family and friends." "But I love them." "I know. Now come, we need to work on you." Rhyne sighed and let Ari lead her to her secret place to get ready for the wedding the next day.
Kris glared at Colby. "You really are out of your mind." "I have a wife too, you know." "Shut up." "It's a bachelor party!" "No, that's called cheating in my book, asshole!" Colby glared at Kris, and Kris glared at Colby. "Fine, whatever, have it your way. To the bar it is! I'll call Phil. He was looking forward to the club," Colby mumbled. "Don't say club like it's the kind we usually go to, stupid." Colby whacked Kris. "Stop calling me stupid! Or I'll tell your fiance on you." Kris shut up.
