Rosie sat down on her bed. "How could you.."

Daemon just sat there, shaking his head. "How could I what? He's my brother, and I had nowhere else to go. He invited me to stay in his Manor, and so I did just that. I didn't feel like going back to the Thieve's Camp...not with Selene chasing me even after having been impregnated. And no, I never did anything of the sort with her...with anyone, for that matter."

"Go.. I don't want you here either.." Rosie said.

Daemon swallowed hard, his knees coming to his chest as he inserted both hands in his hair. "I'm not leaving...not again..." he whispered softly. "I...don't want to...."

Rosie couldn't take this anymore. She opened the door and slammed it, indicating she left to stay in another room.

But Daemon remained where he was. He wanted her...he wanted her to care, so badly. The tears streamed down his cheeks at the thought that he had probably lost her forever, and suddenly, he could find no fault in her reasoning. He felt like she had every right to leave him, to never want anything from him. He had nothing to offer, and nothing to guarantee besides his love and fidelity. Apparently, no one cared about that anymore.

Once in her new room, Rosie fell to knees. She had won. She got him to his breaking point. But why did it hurt so? She didn't want Daemon yet, her very soul wanted to hug him and kiss his tears away. To caress his hair and tell him it was ok. She resisted that need.

The demon man waited. Even when the first light of dawn filtered through the valley, he still waited, sitting in the same position, staring at the entrance to Rosie's room. He couldn't move. He wouldn't move. He wanted her, and he'd stay there until she wanted him too...or until she physically threw him over the balcony to stop him from returning.

Rosie left the castle to get away from Daemon. She didn't want anything from him. She didn't want his love. Rosie wanted to leave. I'm done. Rosie wrapped her arms around herself and proceeded for the forest.

But Daemon remained. He didn't know she had left; his senses weren't working, and he had no energy to make them work. He simply waited for her, hoping she'd return. Hoping she'd heal his dying soul.

Rosie collapsed as she reached her glade. Rosie didn't want to get up. Her eyes were dull. "Daemon.. I just don't want you anymore.."
