Personality: A cheerful, seemingly utterly oblivious, and naïve girl, Chloelia enjoys surprising people, shocking people, and pick-pocketing. She is a noblewoman, and this is only known because of her well-made, albeit loosely fitting, clothes and her specially crafted hat. An extremely friendly individual, Chloelia is open to any and all ideas. She is most often seen listening and rarely speaks. Despite her innocent disposition, Chloelia knows more than she lets on and is an extremely logical person. She enjoys confounding people by performing seemingly impossible magical tricks (not alchemy tricks, illusion tricks). Chloelia is never without a little black rat, hidden under her hat and unfittingly dubbed Mr. Fox.

History: No one knows where she was born. She generally speaks only Latin – another indicator that she is a noblewoman – but can speak Spanish and English. This is only known through her single worded responses to a rare comment here and there.

Other: Some believe Chloelia is secretly a distant cousin of Leif’s and one of the only two family members he likes. Others believe she is a ghost or a girl from the future. Still others believe her a witch and yet even more think her an angel. In reality, no one knows. The only thing anyone knows is that she is an oddly friendly girl always willing to lend an ear or a hand and with an endless fountain of useless information.

Really? ^-^ I used to watch the show whenever they had it on Adult Swim. Some episodes I liked, others not so much. Edward was one of my favorite characters though. Along with Spike Spiegel.

Appearance: Dark sapphire blue locks converge messily atop his head, yet remain silky smooth at all times. From a distance, his hair can appear black depending on the lighting. His amethyst purple eyes border on a grey-violet color. Despite his career as a pirate, Caleb has yet to obtain a single scar or even tan the slightest. He skin is stubbornly immune to tanning and wounds, it would seem.

Personality: Carefree, aloft, serene: these are all things native to Caleb’s nature. But on a deeper level, Caleb is serious, straightforward, and a true optimist. He likes to believe in many things; amongst them the general rule that in order to receive trust, one must give it. Needless to say, Caleb is a rather trusting individual. Fortunately, he has his pirate instincts to forewarn him when trust is not something to be giving.

History: Caleb was once a priest – part of his reason for constantly wearing a cross. He became a pirate for unknown reasons. Then again, nobody has really bothered to pry into that part of his life. As the saying goes “What will be, will be, and tomorrow is another day. No need to dwell on the past.” Although, a distinctive rumor floating about the Lady Nightmare states that Leif appointed Caleb as his First Mate after Caleb beat the living flesh out of him – something no one has done. Ever. Period. Thus, the rumor stands on uncertain ground. Few believe it, but many keep it afloat.

Appearance: Vyrick keeps his spiky mass of hair tied back and extra spiky with a black bandana. Its true color is unknown, as its current color is a grey tinted shade of green. Although, the color does help to enhance his emerald orbs! Scars riddle Vyrick’s lightly tanned skin; the most notable one being a jagged slash across his chest. Whilst Vyrick is an excellent fist fighter, he gains scars like crazy. Hence, his nickname: Scar.

Personality: A serious, no nonsense, down to business nature coats Vyrick’s aurora like honey. In reality, he couldn’t care less if the ship sunk or floated, so long as no one is injured and the peace is kept. Vyrick’s priorities are whacked, this he admits with ease. The order of his thinking follows a rather simple line: peace, flesh, breathe, Captain, women – check; clothes, sword, bandana, gold, rum – check. Good to go.

History: He used to fight in an underground business involving gold first, fists second, and always winning. When the proposal of a rigged fight arrived, Vyrick quit. Simple as that. He became a pirate and started a fresh new chapter in his life. He’s the Quartermaster mainly because, no matter what the hell is attacking the ship, trying to sink it, or bring him down, he’ll keep steering straight – nothing can take him. Well, except Leif.

Other: He doesn’t like shirts. He really, really, doesn’t like shirts. But he loves belts. He is never seen without his trusty sword; pretty much the only weapon he can handle. Vyrick is best with his fists.

Appearance: Mogen has rather long solid black hair that he keeps at bay with various ties. He seems extremely reluctant to cut it, but, all the same, it always has a freshly cut appearance to it. His merry sky blue orbs never stray far from the sight of something cheerful or shiny. If Mogen isn’t happy, there is something terribly wrong in the world.

Personality: Like that of a dog: a giant teddy bear, always happy, always loving, always loyal. Leif claims that Mogen is the perfect pirate in this sense – he’s a giant loveable loyal guard dog. He’s excellent with a sword, perfect with a knife, and knows how to make his terrible aim with a pistol always hit right. He enjoys card games, board games, pirate games, coin games, and games in general. If he’s not socializing, he’s lazing about. When he swims, he looks like a giant board just floating through the water in no particular direction.

History: The Chief Chef and Main Stomach Aboard, Mogen can cook anything and make it something edible, either for himself or everyone else. But mostly for himself. If he doesn’t have three stomachs, a chronically hereditary illness he swears, then Leif is seriously going to cut back on his meat intake. Mogen eats enough for the entire ship! — and then some. At least he can cook. And extremely well, might I add.

Other: Mogen is the proud and loving owner of the Lady Nightmare’s pirate dog. Mogen is also a Master Escape Artist. No matter the shackles, no matter the ropes, the duck tape, or the super-never-come-off-glue, Mogen will be free within an eye blink and fleeing as though he’s never run in his entire life.

Appearance: Levi’s tousled vibrant red hair, sharp jade green orbs, and faintly tanned skin mark him as a feral creature. He has no scars. Like Caleb, he doesn’t get them, not because he seems immune to them. Rather, no one has ever managed to land a wounding blow on him. Both of Levi’s ears are pierced. He wears tiny silver loophole earrings in each, apparently as distracters in a fight, and constantly carries numerous knives and pistols on his persona. Interestingly enough, Levi somehow obtained dog tags and etched his full name into them.

Personality: Belligerent to the core, Levi’s word is unreliable as it changes from day to day. He does things for the sheer exhilaration and thrill of doing them. Willingly, Levi will try various new things to get a taste or feel for them. He loves a good match and never hesitates to participate in training of any kind. Levi also appears to have some kind of aversion to clothing as he prefers to waltz around in nothing but shorts/boxers and his dog tags. This earns him endless grief, mainly from the female population of the ship (“You’re not a stray rat! Put some damn clothes on Levi!”), but the only one capable of getting Levi back in his clothes is Ivel. He has a crude sense of humor and enjoys pulling practical pranks, usually of the deathly sorts. Levi doesn’t appear to hold grudges. Then again, he never allows the other party time enough for him to develop and hold one, so one can never be certain…

History: Levi has been known to start bar fights purely for the purpose of fighting. He also willingly joins fist fights and refuses to lose in them. When he turned 18, he challenged Russell, his older brother, to a drinking match. Levi lost horribly and it was discovered within the first sip of the first drink that he cannot hold is liquor. Period. Since then, Russell has attempted to get him drunk at every which turn. (“What can I say? My lil’ brother’s fucking amusing drunk.”)

Other: Levi is a perfect shot, has excellent connections and resources, always carries the best pistols, and is an excellent knife thrower to boot. He has the keen ability to size up his opponents and determine their capability in a fight with just a single glance. Unfortunately, Levi is terrible with a sword. Give him one and he won’t know what in the world to do with it.

Appearance: Devon has extremely long brown hair that, no matter how often he cuts, always grows back longer and faster than the last time. He has three triangle shaped tattoos: one going down from each eye and one coming up from his chin. Devon prefers to wear large shiny hoop earrings and fancy coats. His well tanned skin reveals how much time he spends in the side. Devon’s eyes are blue-grey.

Personality: Charming, charismatic, witty, and kind. He is intensely loyal to the Lady Nightmare, its crew, and especially its Captain. Devon enjoys knitting – (“It’s not just for woman!”) – and telling stories: be they true or fictional.

History: The usual for a pirate.

Other: He prefers firing the canons to physically fighting, or tending to the wounded. He is usually Sedna’s aid or Sedna’s guard. Whilst he’s good with a sword and a pistol, he is not the best.

Appearance: Much like Levi, Russell has fiery red spiky hair. A lock of it he adorns with black and white metal. Oddly enough, his right eye is gold and his left is blood red. Whereas Levi has an aversion to clothing, Russell seems intent on wearing layers of it. He is forever freezing cold, even on the hottest of days underneath the thickest of coats. As such, Russell is never seen without a scarf.

Personality: Unnervingly resilient to several thousand things. The differences between Russell and Levi are endless: whilst Levi seems to be a bomb seconds away from exploding, Russell is an endless wave of insouciance. At the same time, the resemblance is undeniable. Russell is as mischievous as Levi is devious; oft, the two will be found pulling pranks on other crewmembers and even on each other. When the other pirates tire of training, Russell and Levi are left still duking it out until they both drop dead exhausted. But at a bar, Russell much prefers to drink, drink, and drink some more – and hopefully get Levi drunk while he’s at it – than to cause another bar fight. He also enjoys scaring others: specifically, Skye and Levi. Although, Levi is near impossible to scare.

History: Once, Levi decided to drag him into a drinking match. Russell refused at first, simply because he didn’t want his brother injuring himself or anyone else whilst drunk. But eventually, Russell caved. Since then, Russell tries his best to get his Levi drunk, if only for the hilarity of it. While Russell is a legend for holding his liquor, his brother absolutely is not.

Other: Russell can drink the ship’s weight in sake, beer, rum, wine, and all of the above without getting drunk. He prefers long weapons such as poles and swords. Unlike his brother, he is a terrible shot. He’s also highly likely to hit himself with a knife if he throws one. He has never lost a card game, not even to Caleb, and has swindled half the crew of its money oft enough for them to know better. Now, he’s stuck playing stripe poker or go fish.

Appearance: Bedridden chestnut brown hair, blue-violet eyes, faintly golden bronze skin, and a pair of chestnut brown cat ears and a tail. His left cat ear is pierced three times: the first piercing has a golden earring all its own while the other two share an intricately looping earring that dangles just so. Kyle likes to wear a tattered grey black bandana that he can easily hide is cat ears under. He enjoys wearing bright pirate attire that dangles – often bordering on gypsy clothing.

Personality: Cheerful, bright, fierce, just think of the sun and you have Kyle down pat. In truth, his mood and characteristics change with the sun and moon – quite literally. When the sun is up, Kyle is bouncy, energetic, a tad irrational and temperamental but overall cheerful. When the sky is cloudy, Kyle is relaxed, calm, sedated: he is still generally happy but far more rational and pessimistic than usual. When the moon is up, Kyle is silent as a cat – his independent nature becomes more prominent along with his sneaky, mischievous, and deviously wicked side. At night, Kyle tends to bring gold back to the ship. The crew of Lady Nightmare has long since concluded that for all intents and purposes, Kyle is a cat with a mood that matches the sky. No one knows why, just as know one knows why he has cat ears or a tail.

History: Kyle either doesn’t remember things well, has a selective memory, or just likes being mysterious and secretive.

Other: He has excellent balance and is usually the one up in the sails knocking out the people in the other Crow’s Nest. He is very good with a sword, okay with knives and pistols, but superb at gymnastic stunts. Kyle’s preferred weapon is a flute: do not ask. Often, the crew of Lady Nightmare will find Kyle spending his time playing the flute. Sometimes, music from elsewhere and even voices seem to float straight off the sea to accompany his songs; Lady Nightmare’s crew prefers not to think where this mysterious accompanying music comes from.

Personality: Quiet, relaxed, and sometimes aloof. Skye’s often in his own little world. He’s an excellent artist, often being the one assigned to draw maps, sketches, and the sort. He’s also very good with a needle and thread. Skye enjoys doing mindless tasks that take little concentration and let him wander in his thoughts. Unfortunately, he’s frightened rather easily. Zekiel likes to joke that Skye is like a deer: shy, cautious, and quiet.
