I really, really didn't want to have to ever post these, but I'm afraid I have no choice now.
I grabbed them from NSTAM, because I didn't feel like making up a new set of rules when I had already thought up some. I edited some out, and changed some examples, but the basics are still the same.
Read rule four or I swear to God I will hunt you all down and cut you.
4. Please create logical and realistic characters. That means your character can't have superpowers, their hair and eyes can't change colour (unless, of course, it is a roleplay where this is plausible), etc. They also must react realistically to a situation. That means they cannot backtalk someone of higher authority, and if they do, expect reparation, for it will happen. If a pirate (or someone) is pointing a sword (or a weapon in general) at your character's throat and your character is an idiot and back-talks them (holy mother of God, guys, I am SO tired of this happening, like you wouldn't believe), then that character has FULL permission to kill your character. You may think this is completely unfair, but it has happened so many times that I just can't take it anymore. I've given more than enough fair warning in the over fifteen times I've seen this happen. It removes the fun from absolutely everything if a character just does what he/she wants, and the authorities can't do anything. I am absolutely serious about this realism rule.
I'm just so sick of people ignoring the authority in roleplays. In real life, if anyone tried the things I've seen people do in some roleplays, they'd be dead - no questions, no second chances, no trials. Dead. I'm especially tired of trying to enforce this rule, because people ignore me, so that is why this rule exists now. Any disputes over whether the kill was fair or not shall be judged by me, the Administrator, or my co-Admin Alze. If neither of us are present, the you must inform one of the two Global Moderators - no exceptions.
5. If you're doing a historical roleplay, please at least make sure you know a bit about the culture. For example, ancient Romans did NOT have cellphones. (Yes, people have tried that.)
6. Use full words when roleplaying. No u, i, c, r, ru, ur, gtg, bbl, etc. It's fine in "OOC" mode, but otherwise, you will be warned.
7. The use of blockquoting
8. Respect the other members.
9. Have fun ;D[/blockquote]

The Rules
1. Be nice. This is so obvious I shouldn't even have to state it, but sometimes, people forget. Even me.
2. No discrimination. The admins don't care if your character is homosexual, bisexual, heterosexual, pansexual, metrosexual, black, white, Indian, American, Mexican, Russian - all will be accepted, and we will not tolerate slurs against any particular orientation or origin. If you dislike it or it makes you feel uncomfortable, then don't get involved with that character.
3. Don't harass the admins, or any other member of SD.
