Riksha stared up at him, using her fire bending to keep herself warm.
With a lick of her lips, she pulled up her sleeve to reveal a painful burn along her elbow. "I can't defend myself with my own bending around him," she said softly, wincing even as the cloth touched her arm.

Riksha kissed him back, hugging him once again. "I miss my mother... she always tried her best to protect me. Now... I get the brunt of every anger he feels." She shook her head. "I'm so strong for the people, but my body is failing me, Ki."

"He's already murdered our child," she whispered almost too quietly to be heard.
"But you can't do anything to him. He's too strong. Why do you think he's raising all this hell like my great great great great grandfather did before the avatar took away his bending? Fire Lord Ozai (spelling is wrong, I know) was trying to destroy the world, and my father is reliving it. He's too strong."
