Daemon laughed a little, but nodded, passing her the rations he had just taken for himself. He then grabbed another, before picking his way through the groups, motioning to where the council were all sitting. There were thirteen of them altogether, excluding Daemon in that number, and a mix of men and women were included. There were one or two gypsies and another being here and there, but for the most part, the group was entirely human. Daemon's right-hand man (who has yet to be named xD) glanced up with a look of curiosity. "She's eating with us?" Daemon nodded, taking his place on the ground beside the others. "Prefers the familiar over the non-to-kind." "Ah," replied the man, turning back to the other he had been speaking to.

Irene looked at the people at the table, silently grateful that they were members of her own species - namely, human. It was almost frightening, really - back in Hirrak, the only non-human she had ever come into contact with was one of the strange gifteds, and they were still technically humans, just with benefits. At the time, she had wished for those benefits, as well, but there was no point in wasting time on something so trivial, right? "Thank you," she told Daemon quietly.

Daemon glanced at her, nodding as he gestured to the placement at his side. "It's all common talk here; anything of importance is spoken of elsewhere, so you don't need to worry about saying anything wrong. Also, the conversation is generally casual, so once again, feel free to embrace any topic." He then proceeded to take the first bite of his food.

Irene relaxed visibly, the tension bleeding from her shoulders as she swept her hair into a low, messy ponytail, which, while not looking incredibly... attractive, per se, allowed her to eat without worry of swallowing sections of her hair, thus making a genuine fool of herself in front of everyone. She wouldn't start a conversation - she didn't know them well enough yet, and her mother had beat the fact that women should be seen and not heard into her head. Irene's face sharpened, hazel eyes narrowing.

Daemon smiled a bit more when he took notice of this. He finished his meal quickly, leaning back in his chair with a cup of some form of beverage, sipping at it lightly. "So what, pray tell, is a noblewoman such as yourself doing in my camp? Your application form didn't necessarily give me full detail; just the basics. Anything else I should know?"

Irene trained her eyes on the man who was now her leader, an almost predatory gleam in her eyes. "Anything you want to know, first?"

Daemon shrugged, running his free hand through his blonde locks. "No, not particularly. State what you see fit. Secrets are out specialties here, so you are not at all obligated to share any of them, unless it would be detrimental to my teams." He turned to look at her as well, amber eyes gleaming with a hint of warning in their depths.

Irene nodded slowly, understanding creeping into her own expression. "I was tired of my life, I was tired of my mother, and I did something... something bad. No one knows it was me, but going back is no longer an option - even if staying out here is only for my own peace of mind. A bit selfish, but..." a small shrug. "I have three brothers. One jousts and is a knight, the other... I don't know what he does, and the last one, my oldest brother, is an author."

"Tch," was Daemon's response, a slight smirk tugging at his lips. "Typical noble family. Ignorant in their own style of living. Did you know that one of my foot soldiers could take out ten of Hirrak's knights without even breaking a sweat? And that's just getting started."

Irene blinked, looking intrigued. "If that's getting started then, sir, I'd hate to see what your more... experienced and hardcore members are like."

Daemon spun his cup around on the table. "Have you ever been curious as to how whole villages can be slaughtered, or massacred, without even a clue left as to who had done so?"

"I suppose, but don't people usually use fire when they want to accomplish that?" Irene asked, frowning.
ooc;; Sorry, but I have to go D: School -_-' I'll be on later, I promise!

"If you're willing to burn down an entire crop of perfectly good housing, along with artifacts and other useful items, by all means," Daemon pointed out, shrugging. "Stealth and discretion are required to keep those things, but once the place has been scoured, fire is definitely an option."

Irene nodded absently, considering his information. "But if the town is lying in the open, with only vast fields around it, how would one infiltrate such a place without being seen approaching?"

Daemon exhaled. "There are many things you have yet to learn, Miss Stirling. That will be one of them." he smiled at her once more.
