"Heartless," Alerick growled as he detached himself from the shadows, blue eyes sparking angrily. He had been leaning on one of the supporting beams, arms and ankles crossed. He now took on an almost aggressive posture, fists clenched and body tense. "Bloody heartless, that's what you are!" "Al, please... Don't..." Mathieu knew his brother had a 'hero complex' - which was basically the codeword the half-French boy had attributed to his brother's inner code of justice and honour.
Fylis smiled. "You're not so bad, you know. You could have been a pirate." Ashley shook his head. "It's not... something I can do. Honestly, can you see me fighting?" "I heard you could hold a halberd pretty well..." "Yes, but when are you going to see people fighting with halberds anymore?" Ashley said, violet eyes dancing in amusement. "No - I only learned because my Spanish friend wanted me to learn something, and since I couldn't hold up his battle ax, he suggested the halberd instead." Fylis nodded quietly. "I guess everyone's going to bed," she said as she saw Charlie carrying Blake passed the door. She was puzzled by the crease that appeared on Ashley's brow, and she was smart enough to detect the spark of worry in his eyes. "Ashley?" They were on a first name basis, not that it was anything special.

"Blake, you need to sleep this off," Charlie told her as he set the brunette into her hammock. "Are you going to be alright?" Blake didn't answer, already curled up on her side in the fetal position. Her eyes were glazed and red, and the tears seemed to come from a broken dam that had once resided in her body. Charlie sighed, brushing some hair from her face before placing a chaste kiss on her forehead. "Get some rest. I'll start with the preparations tomorrow morn, and please, for Heaven's sake, try to stay away from the captain." The blonde then left her there, moving back up to the deck to begin his evening rounds.
Ashton yawned with great exaggeration as he stood, teetering a little due to the intoxication. "I'm ready for bed..." slurred he. "Not without me, I should hope," Amelia exclaimed then, immediately at his side. She giggled like a whore at a tavern, and once he slung his arm about her shoulders, she led him up and out of the galley. Merrina watched Amelia leave, shaking her head a little. "One of these days she'll kill 'erself." "I don't think she minds that form of death," Nuri murmured. Merrina glared before slipping off the table edge, starting for the deck as well. "Good night all." Selviana was quickly at her side, and they vanished upstairs.

Fylis blinked when she got no response, but didn't pursue the matter. "All right, well..." She peered into the galley, where even more pirates were beginning to trickle out. "I'm going to head down to bed, yeah? It's been trying." Ashley nodded. He was rummaging around in the cupboards, as if looking for something.
"Death by sex," an unnamed pirate laughed. "What a way to go!" Alerick, still glaring, merely snorted and walked up the stairs to the open air, pacing the length of the deck until he had his hand tangled in the rigging, and was pulling himself up to the Crow's Nest. The storm had calmed, and though it was still raining, the wind wasn't as fierce as it had been earlier. Mathieu watched his brother go, hoping he wouldn't come down with hypothermia, but the half-Frenchman was feeling a bit under the weather himself right now, so he didn't follow.

"Coming Fylis?" called Violet from the galley, as the majority of the others had left or were just disappearing above deck. Foriden and Tenaiya were long gone, both having disappeared inside the Captain's quarters. Ashton and Amelia had vanished somewhere below deck, presumably not the crew's quarters for certain reasons, and the other drunkards were just starting to pile into their sleeping arrangements. Evaren who was completely worn out from trying to navigate through the storm without killing anything, was relieved by LaBeau so she could go get some sleep, while Konar and his monkey took one of the watches. They worked closely with Charlie making sure the perimeter was kept and no intruders were detected.

"... Yeah," Fylis called, walking over to join Violet.
Ashley murmured something under his breath, sighing as he once again came up empty. Really, pirates were so... He shook his head. All this trouble for his piano... Elizabeth... Ashley's eyes widened as he suddenly hit gold, pulling out a well-hidden container of sorts, smelling of tea leaves. Perfect.
Alerick sat up in the Crow's Nest, his legs crossed at the ankles and his knees bent as his arms encircled them. The rain had lessened to a steady drizzle, though his clothes were still soaked from before, and up here, it was beginning to get a little chilly.

Violet nodded when she saw the woman. "C'mon, let's go." She then hurried up the stairs.
Blake closed her eyes when the others entered the quarters, wanting terribly to be alone at this moment. For a brief moment, she wondered why she gave up her cabin, but quickly thereafter reminded herself that she wanted to be treated like everyone else. With a deep sigh, she climbed out, tugging on her boots but leaving her vest, moving to reach the deck. She couldn't sleep with these emotions tugging at every fiber of her being at this current moment. Charlie blinked when he saw her emerge, and in just her white cotton top, of all things. It was raining; didn't she have any sensibility? She was English, for pity's sake. "Blake." The brunette joined her brother, sniffling a little. "I couldn't sleep." "I can see that." He pushed some hair from her face, sighing. "You're a mess." "I know," Blake whispered. "And your shirt will soon be see through if you don't put something else on." Blake didn't answer. She instead turned her gaze to the wooden boards beneath her feet. "What can I do?" "Nothing." Charlie sighed, and walked off then, resuming his task. He wish he knew how to help her.

Alerick looked down from his literal perch, blue eyes blinking as he saw Blake and Charlie below. Man, he figured he must be feeling really off - not even the thought of Blake's only clothing item turning see-through was pulling him out of this slump. Alerick rubbed at his forearm absently, wincing. Ah, well...
Ashley moved quietly through the ship. The pirates had all retired by this point, except for the ones on watch, and he was extra careful to avoid them.

Blake leaned against the railing, watching the calming seas through half-lidded eyes. Charlie was right. The sooner they were gone, the sooner everything would be better. Besides, she wasn't a help. She was suddenly spun around then. Slap! Blake blinked as she clutched her cheek. Tenaiya stood in front of her, glaring. "You stay away from him now, got it? No more of your midnight rendezvous!" Blake stared with confusion. "I wasn't even...that was just...." Tenaiya slapped her again. "You're lucky to be alive, Blake. If I were him, I would've had you killed for adultery." And with that, she stalked away, back to the Captain's cabin where Foriden stood, waiting. Blake's cheeks stung from the cold seeping into her cuts, and she watched the door close before sliding down to sit at the bottom of the rail.

Alerick almost leaped back when he saw Tenaiya's actions, and he started when he realized that she was no longer the only one on deck. Soren had just emerged, yawning, to take one of the watch posts near the stern, and had seen the whole thing with wide eyes and a slack jaw. Another one of the women, Indira, a highly judgmental woman with origins tracing back to India, had also seen the whole thing, and beside her stood the aristocrat Mathieu was always hanging around - Ashley Emmerich, or whatever.

Blake pulled her knees up to her chest, pressing her forehead against them. Why were things always so complicated?
Charlie had watched the whole thing as well, but as previously stated, he didn't know how to help her, so he just stood there, eyes narrowed, trying to decide what to do.

Ashley walked over to Charlie carefully. He halted to the right of the other man, body tense. "Go talk to her, Charlie - even if you don't know what to say. Let her know that you'll be there, even if... the other men in her life are not, okay? She needs comfort - even I can see it."

"There's nothing more to say," Charlie responded quietly. "I've done all I can for her."

"Then just be there," Ashley replied simply. "She reminds me of Antonio, you know, despite the different genders."

Charlie glanced at him with confusion. "Antonio? Your friend, yes?"

Ashley nodded. "Yes, my friend for a good many years before some stuff happened, and he left." Ashley let out a fond chuckle. "When we were younger, maybe thirteen, he was beaten in a fight by an English boy. This may not seem like much, as boys often do this to each other, but Antonio and this boy had a long-standing rivalry. He was devastated after the fight. Wouldn't talk to anyone. Just sort of clammed up... and threw things."
