"Bad omen?" Kyle repeated, "Whatever for? Why, I'm part cat," he motioned his ears and tail, "But don't tell anyone that." He added in a quick whisper. As if nobody knew he was part cat. "People think cats work for Witches. Therefore, cats are 'bad luck.' Doesn't make me a bad omen, though." He considered Blake for a moment, seeming to seriously consider if she were 'bad omen' material. "I don't think you're a bad omen either. If anything, you're a good omen – ‘specially compared to me." He nodded twice sharply, as though he'd just imparted the wisest words on the planet.

Blake smirked. "Such strong opinions for one so young. Perhaps you should wait until you're as old as I am before making up your mind." She stood, grasping the rope nearby. "And with that, I bid thee farewell." She bowed dramatically at the waist, letting the rope slip through her hands as she stepped off the crows nest. She landed once more on the deck, a little less gracefully as before, but decent all the same.

Kyle considered Blake’s landing. “I rate that a five out of ten!” Celosia rolled her eyes at the half-cat’s remark. “Never mind him either. He thinks anything not part feline doesn’t have perfect balance. Come, why don’t you met the three people absent from your earlier introduction?” She motioned with a gloved had for Blake to follow and led the way over to Levi and Ivel. Levi was busy eyeing Ivel’s apple. Feeling the knife in his left head, he weighted it, flicked his wrist, and tossed the dagger: it landed square in the middle of Ivel’s apple. Levi grinned approvingly at his work. “That would be Levi,” Celosia stated, “Don’t get on his bad side.” “Bad side? I have a good side?” Levi asked rhetorically, glancing at Ivel as if for an explanation. “I was not informed.”

Ivel just glared at his his red-haired counterpart. "You're good side is what you are now, idiot. Your bad side...well..." He just shook his head. Blake folded her arms across her chest. "I see there's no end to the constant useless bickering."
ooc; I'm actually gonna go now cause I'm bushed. Ttyl!

“What useless bickering?” Levi snorted, taking his knife out of Ivel’s apple and in a smooth motion cutting the apple into five equal pieces. Taking one of these, Levi spoke just before he ate it, “This is a productive conversation: I just learned something new. I have a ‘good side.’” Rolling her eyes once more, Celosia tugged Blake off. “Come on, away from the shirtless men. Speaking of shirtless, put some clothes on!” Her order went blatantly ignored. Celosia huffed good-naturedly and led Blake over to Leif, steering the helm, and Caleb, reporting to him about treasure tidbits.

Ivel harrumphed as Celosia tugged Blake away. "And here I thought we had recruited someone as mischievous as us. Did you see the way she came down from the sky? Nay, the crows nest. Never mind. She's more the type of Kyle. What say you, Levi?" He, too, took a piece of apple, sliding it into his mouth with one fluid motion.
Blake nodded to Celosia appreciatively, though a questioning scowl overcame her features as they approached the helm. "What are we going over here for?"

Levi chewed the slice of apple thoughtfully, his emerald green orbs narrowing after Blake. "It would've been a blessing to find another like-minded pirate," he agreed. "But she more reminds me of Celosia and Nyx mashed together, plus quite a bit of baggage." A devious glint entered his eyes, "Why don't we... acquaintance her with the art of pranking?"
Celosia watched Leif and Caleb for a moment, gauging whether or not what they discussed was important or worthy of interruption. "To introduce you to Caleb, the First Mate." Celosia explained, motioning towards the blue-haired pirate. She seemed to conclude their conversation unimportant, as she led Blake closer and promptly finished the introductions. "Caleb, Blake, Blake, Caleb. Perfect, now you've met the whole crew!" Celosia clasped her gloves hands together and smiled. "Blake who?" Caleb asked, utterly confused. "I've missed something important, haven't I?" He directed the near accusatory comment to Leif. Leif merely shrugged indifferently. "Nothing of grand significance to our pirating operation: purely a fresh crewmember."

Ivel grinned wickedly. "Aye, sounds like a notable idea. And yes, I quite agree. Something is plaguing her something awful; perhaps we should help...enlighten her."
Blake just raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. She dipped her head quickly to Caleb. "I hope you're actually capable of your responsibilities. The last ship I was on had a first mate only occupied by ... other activities. I suppose only time will tell if you are truly skilled at your job." Her eyes gleamed dangerously as she turned back to Celosia. "I don't fancy standing around a captain and first-mate all day as it reminds me of ... prior experiences ... so please tell me you have something else we can do."

Levi's sly hand snatched another slice of apple as vague ideas for another prank paraded through his mind. "Now the only question is, what sort of 'enlightening' shall we give? Light, medium, or severe?" Levi considered the three levels: light, a fairly harmless one; medium, nothing life threatening but usually remembered and laughed about; severe, typically only used for revenge. Considering this was a new crewmember, and they didn't want to make any enemies any time soon, Levi thought this pranking called for something between light and medium. He waited for Ivel's input.
"If I wasn't capable, I would be dead," Caleb said simply. "You would be more than a lifeless immobile vessel," Leif added, waving his violin bow in an idly threatening manner. Caleb calmly pushed the bow away. He nodded once to both Celosia and Blake; "It was a pleasure to meet you. I'm sure Celosia can show you the ropes." He then turned back to Leif, resuming their prior discussion – likely about the Medallion hunt.
Celosia quirked a brow at Blake’s last comment, but did not divulge. “We cleaned the deck before we left,” Celosia spoke as she walked, “But we haven’t finished inventory from our last gold mine. There’s also the usual rope work to do; securing the mast, keeping lookout, the such. Would you prefer working below deck or in the sun?”

Ivel tapped his chin, swallowing the remnants of his apple before taking another piece once more, eying the last which resided in his hand. "I suggest we start with something light, just to see how she will react. If all is favorable, we shall proceed to the next level. Yes?"
Blake nodded once more to Caleb, though this time it seemed more forced. "Likewise," she muttered turning away and starting back down to the main deck level. "I don't really care, so long as I'm not chosen to just stand around so the men can stare at me." She glanced over her shoulder at the woman. "Stay as far away from Storm Breaker as you possibly can; those men are horrible, and hardly scrutable pirates."

Under her breath, rather thoughtfully, Celosia repeated the other pirate ship’s name, “Storm Breaker, eh?” Speaking aloud once more, she led the way into the hull. “Aye, I’ll take your word for it then. I’d prefer to get out of this sun – too hot today, if you ask me.” Her hand went to her hat, as if to take it off, but Celosia decided to keep it on at the last moment. “On Lady Nightmare—should be the Nightmare Lady if you ask me—we don’t stand around: we work our fair share. If we don’t, we don’t get a part of the treasure.” She passed by the kitchen, where Mogen was busy whistling and tossing dough. Normally, she would’ve sent a greeting his way, but a flickering shadow caught her eye. Automatically, Celosia held up a hand for Blake to stop walking. Lowering her other hand to her waist, Celosia gripped the hilt of her sword and began to creep along.

"Good to know," Blake replied, glancing at Mogen in the kitchen. Her breath caught in her throat, and her eyes widened a little at his appearance. He was the spitting image of Jack, and this caused her heart to race wildly. Tears welled in her now glassy eyes, and she stepped into the kitchen to ... see for herself. "J-Jack...?"

“Aye,” Levi agreed, his eyes trained on the last piece of apple in Ivel’s hand. With lightning precision, Levi snatched the piece and swallowed it whole. “Now,” he settled down cross-legged at the base of the mast. “What will enlighten a lady pirate the most? Rats? Cats? Maybe bone trinkets in the hair?” Levi mused. The last time he’d pranked a female pirate had been Syri – not the smarted move, mind ye – so he wasn’t to be blamed for thinking ‘medium level’ instead of ‘light level’ at the moment.

Ivel frowned. "No, you're thinking to highly leveled already, mate. We have to do something less than that. Think harder!"
