Yeah; I really don't feel the need to repeat two and seven. They're given rules.
Yeah, but you had no idea how the Sith worked, and besides, that was the first time you had ever done it - I only got as pissed off as I did because I was already ticked at life pre-incident. There are some people I have warned multiple times to be realistic, and they ignore me. So yeah.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I'm trying really REALLY hard to be better at stuff.

Everyone's done it at least once, Emily. I may not have done it in roleplays (and if I did, no one ever told me), but I used to have characters do it in stories, before reading other stories where characters did the same thing. Then I realized how flipping annoying it was, and resolved to never do it again.

Yeah, well, it makes sense. My other struggle is not making mary sues. Holy shit I realized I do it a lot. Or at least partially anyway.

And it totally shows, Emily! I am ridiculously happy that you are actually taking my suggestions and trying to work with them - most people just ignore me completely and carry on their merry way. Then they get ticked when I never respond to anything they say. It really means a lot to me that you're willing to, again, listen.

It's always more obvious in female characters, because people tend to do it more often. I know a couple of my guy characters are Sues, and my female character from This story (whoa, I wrote that a long time ago...) eventually caused me to stop writing it altogether, even though people said she was a likable Sue. Some Sues can be likable, y'know - not all of them are bad. It all depends on the reader's perspective somethings. But it's always good to watch, because if it goes unchecked and happens too much, people start noticing more, and the response becomes harsher.

Writing is one of my passions, so if I can improve, then I'm open for suggestions. And I try really hard to work through them, so I'm glad you can see it.
