Ashley watched her quietly. Somehow, he doubted the numbness had left his system, even though they could no longer see land. It was overly pathetic, yes, but then again, his strength had lain with other things.
Getting up, Ashley left the fancy blue jacket with the gold trim somewhere where it wouldn't get dirty, leaving a white shirt and matching cravat.
He wondered where he would find Tenaiya. He did not know where everything was, after all.

bic: As soon as Merrina had left the stairwell, Tenaiya's appearance replaced the other woman, arms folded across her cardinal red coat. It had been a gift from the Captain.
"I would assume you need an assistant, from what I hear of your reaction to Merrina's arrival. Who would you request? Male, or Female?"

bic: Tenaiya turned then and left for the deck. Several moments later, a bright scarlet haired girl of around fifteen or so, tumbled into the galley, landing at the bottom with an 'Oof!'. She glared defiantly at Ashley when she stood, folding her arms with annoyance. "I am not helping you!"

"A civilian?" Ashley asked, faint amusement shining in his eyes. "Well, Violet - or would you prefer 'Miss Violet'?" The last part was asked completely without sarcasm, showing that he was serious. "If you don't want, I don't... require you to do anything, really; I suppose I just need to know where everything is."

Violet nodded firmly before darting back up to the deck. There was a great dispute that occurred then, but one that was swiftly ignored and forgotten to the rest of the crew.

Violet glanced at him, scrunching up her nose. "And what would make you think that!? I'm not helping that pompous man!" She immediately leapt to the rigging, starting for the upper mast and crows nest. It was where she felt most like herself. "Now are you coming to help me, or are you just going to sit there braiding all night?!"

"He's not that bad - I mean, I really don't think he expected the ship to start moving before he could get off," Sören said with a small shrug. "And I'll have you know that I was doing something important," he said before following Violet up.
