In the year 1849, at the beginning of the California Gold Rush, many people flocked to the rivers and streams in order to stake a claim and try to salvage as much gold as they could, in the hopes they'd make it rich. Some did... many didn't.
During this time, prospectors (dubbed "forty-niners") from all over both the United States and the world migrated and set up small towns all over the west, many of which boomed under the sudden influx of business.
Shaleman was one of those towns. With its authentic, dusty streets, large hotels, church, numerous saloons and beautiful women, Shaleman became a hot spot for gold-seekers all around.
But this town is more than it seems. The nightlife teems with an unspoken threat, and intoxicating individuals congregate to the saloons every night, claiming they live here, in the town. Radiating allure and mystery, many people have tried to approach these inhabitants, overriding the natural survival instinct built into every mortal creature. Oftentimes, these people vanish after being seen in the company of such a person, but death is common in the town; mining for gold is dangerous work.
No one is brave enough to mention that, during the daylight, these so-called “residents” never show their faces. Or... do they?

{Also inspired by Neopets.} It's Halloween. The night when ghosts and goblins show their true faces; the night when vampires and wizards and werewolves roam free. But to the mortals, it's all about who gets the most candy... and whether that massive Victorian mansion at the end of the street is really as haunted as they say.
However, because of the weird happenings around the house, and the rumoured disappearances that occur every Halloween, always hushed by the police, the neighbors call in a task force to surround the house and make sure no one can get in.
But a group of determined teenagers, young adults and children are determined to find out one way or another... even if what they find may be the biggest case of Halloween fright they've ever received.

{Inspired by the ever-popular Neopets roleplays} In the year 2006, the government rounded up supernaturals from all over the world and placed them in environments where they could not do any harm. Wizards, witches, vampires, zombies and werewolves were all "safely" relocated to separate parts of the country, where they would be surveyed by government agents. These supposed safe houses, intimidating in their appearances, were designed to keep the inhabitants in, and outsiders out.
Large and impregnable from the inside and the out, the specially built mansions could accommodate up to one-hundred supernaturals each, providing them with a comfy enough lifestyle in exchange for their freedom.
But is everything really as simple as it seems? Recently, supernaturals at the houses have been going missing, and still others have been found dead. Who could be doing this? Is it the government, or is there another sinister plot afoot?
And how for much much longer will these safe houses remain safe?

A small, for-the-rich cruise ship sets out from Florida for a peaceful, weeklong voyage. The people on board, either rich passengers, related to rich passengers or crewmembers, are happy to get away from the mainland for what they think will be a relaxing and invigorating journey.
However, two days into the cruise, a brutal storm hits, killing many on board. The survivors, taking to few undamaged lifeboats, wake to find themselves washed up on a large deserted island. Now, these survivors will have to battle headhunters, starvation, thirst, and the elements in a desperate fight to stay alive. But with tensions in the group running high, will they be able to keep from killing each other and find a way off the island? Or will they fall prey to the most basic human instincts and destroy one other?
