Alerick winked. "Tiresome. But, you know, nothing's too much for the hero." He frowned as Merrina got up. "Hey, man, what's with her? Kinda... off lately, yeah? She feeling okay? I hear women get some weird thing every month. At least that's what Artie told me when I was still little." Mathieu twitched lightly.

"Che, not like you're much of a hero," Amelia muttered under her breath, laughing a little. "Che, no. Not even close. She's...erm...in love." The woman shrugged. Violet rolled her eyes. "I'm not going to bite!"

"What are you talking about? I totally am!" Alerick insisted roguishly, grabbing his own mug - or bottle - of rum, though it could have easily been whiskey for all he paid attention. Drinking had always been Artie's specialty, anyway. Prick. "And really? Merrina? Who with? Bet it's that LeBeau guy."
Mathieu sighed, looking around the room. "Al, I'm going to go check something." "Huh? Oh, yeah, sure thing, Mattie!"

Amelia raised an eyebrow. "You really want to know? From what I gather, you don't care much about who was infatuated with who. Now come on, ease up. Drink, and perhaps later I can occupy your attention." She smiled seductively before downing the rest of her ale before refilling.
Violet blinked, frowning a little. Was she REALLY that scary?!
Merrina frowned at hearing Amelia's words, and, suddenly having lost her appetite, got up and left the galley, climbing the stairs to the deck. Blake was standing by the rail, staring out across the water, and the dark-haired woman decided to join her. "Land is close...so is that storm." Merrina nodded at Blake's words. "You're not fond of storms, are you?" Blake shook her head. "No. I've never been. Got me into a heap of trouble three years ago." The other woman just nodded again, leaning against the rail as well. "How do you deal with loving someone when you know you shouldn't...?" Blake glanced at her thoughtfully. "You're asking me for advice...?" Merrina chuckled. "Yes, I am." "Well..." Blake returned her attention to the waves of the darkened ocean. "...you just have to live with it." Merrina frowned. "Pretty stupid advice, if you ask me." "I don't have much experience, I'm afraid." "Whatever." Silence befell the two then.

"Hey, man, I know you and Merri pretty well! A hero has to look out for his friends, am I right?" He took another swig of Whatever The Hell It Was and grinned.
Mathieu carefully moved along the cabin hallway. Of course, he was trying to find Ashley again, and hearing the faint rush of piano music, decided that was the best place to go first.

"Is that your way of saying you want me to tell you whether I want to or not?" Amelia demanded, somewhat unhappily.
"Music," Merrina muttered upon hearing the piano. "Haven't heard such a sound in years." Blake nodded once, pushing away from the guard to make her way across the deck. "I'm going to bed. If anyone asks, I was tired." Merrina watched her with faint curiosity a moment before nodding. "Aye." Blake exhaled deeply as she pushed her way below deck. Merrina was now left alone, staring at the horizon as lightning lit the clouds. It was going to be a long night, and she briefly wondered how well the young brunette would fair, on her own, during the midst of a storm.

"Is this another one of those sisterhood things? Y'know, like the brotherhood, only slightly more freaky and generally less awesome?" It was said in a joking tone, as Alerick's speech was beginning to get a bit slurred. After all, this was his... something...th... glass/mug/thing. Ahaha!
Mathieu found the room and hesitantly opened the door, blinking as he saw Ashley sitting on the piano bench, his concentration so deep he did not hear the other man come in. Mathieu didn't recognize the tune, but that wasn't saying much: it was rather mournful, with dashes of melancholy, so perhaps Chopin again, but he doubted it.

"No, because if it was, I wouldn't be permitted to even speak to you so freely. The sisterhood is one of those...petty things that the occurs in the ports and mainland towns. When a woman loves a man, her companions are supposed to help her, not themselves. Isn't that how it goes?" Amelia told him bluntly, practically spelling out that Merrina held feelings for the man, though didn't seem to take too much notice as she readied her third drink.

"I wouldn't know," Alerick said, his eyes slightly dilated. "Mathieu's never been in love, Artie was too busy anta... anta... antagon... antagonizing Mathieu's older full-brother, and vice... versa, so..." A shrug. He almost fell over. "Y'know, that shtuff. I guesh girlsh work differently than guysh."
Ashley's hands stilled over the keys. "Elizabeth?" "I... I'm sorry." "... Ah, Mathieu." Ashley shook his head, as if to clear his thoughts. "Can I help you?" "What song was that?" "I do not know. Just... something, I suppose. I cannot quite remember the name."

Amelia smirked. "You get intoxicated far too easily, Alerick. Some hero you are."
Blake slipped her corset off of her shirt, her boots off her feet, and her belt out of the loop holes in her pants. With a sigh, the young woman of twenty climbed into her hammock, letting it sway a little before it finally calmed, and she was able to close her eyes. Not more than ten minutes later did the first sound of thunder make her eyes go wide with fear, and she lay there, heart threatening to rip from her chest, as she waited for the following crash.

"Shut up. I've had... some drinksh... before thish, ya know."
Fylis, who had been sitting on her own hammock, staring at nothing, snapped her head over to the porthole as rain began to fall. "Perkele!" Soren swore from above deck somewhere.

Amelia shrugged, standing after her forth ale. "I've got work to do. Have fun in your drunken stupor." And with a final salute, the busty woman left to go deal with the storm happenings. She loved the weather. Foriden and Tenaiya were topside within moments as well, followed by the rest of the crew (my characters anyway), and without hesitation, Tenaiya was already barking orders. The Captain moved from the brunette's side, starting for the crew's quarters to check on Blake, as he always felt concern - of sorts - for the woman four years younger than he. He immediately found her lying awake and staring at the ceiling, and if he didn't know any better, he would've thought she was shaking.
Merrina was moving about the deck in a speedy pace, her hair now loose from its braid and moving furiously about her shoulders. Water clung to her body, making her skin sleek from the precipitation. It had often been rumored she had come from a town plagued by tsunami, and had strived in such conditions. Seeing her move about the ship amidst a storm just verified her prowess. "Show off," came Amelia's shout from below as Merrina climbed the rigging to get a firm hold on the sails.
